Where your metals
are actually stored.

Every metal listed on VaultRunner is held at a COMEX-approved, fully insured depository. Ownership transfers happen at the vault. The metal never moves during a transaction.

What COMEX-approved
actually means.

COMEX-approved depositories meet the highest standards in the precious metals industry. These are the facilities that major exchanges and institutional investors trust with physical metal custody.

Insurance
Fully Insured Custody

All metals in the depository network are covered by comprehensive insurance policies. Coverage applies to theft, natural disaster, and physical damage while in vault storage.

Audits
Independent Auditing

COMEX-approved facilities undergo regular independent audits verifying that physical metal inventories match recorded holdings. Audit results are reported to the exchange.

Security
Institutional-Grade Vaults

Class III vault facilities with 24/7 surveillance, biometric access controls, seismic monitoring, and armed security. The same infrastructure protecting exchange-traded inventories.

Authentication
Intake Verification

Every item entering the depository is weighed, assayed if required, and authenticated before being assigned to an account. Verified items receive an authentication record tied to the vault holdings.

Segregation
Segregated Storage Available

Account holders can choose segregated storage where their specific items are stored separately and identified by serial number, or allocated storage in pooled inventory.

Regulation
Exchange-Regulated Compliance

COMEX-approved depositories operate under the compliance framework of CME Group, meeting requirements for reporting, record-keeping, and operational transparency.

The metal stays put.
Ownership moves.

When a transaction completes on VaultRunner, the depository re-titles the metal from the seller's vault account to the buyer's vault account. The physical metal does not move. This eliminates shipping costs, transit risk, and delivery wait times.

01
Escrow Confirms Payment

The independent escrow service confirms that buyer funds are secured. VaultRunner notifies the seller and initiates the transfer instruction.

02
Depository Re-Titles Metal

The depository transfers ownership on its books from the seller's account to the buyer's account. The metal remains in the same vault, in the same location.

03
Buyer Confirms Receipt

The buyer confirms the vault transfer is reflected in their depository account. Escrow releases payment to the seller. Transaction complete.
